Thekwini TVET College invites suitably qualified and experienced Lecturer to apply for the following contract post available for 2026 academic year based in Durban.
POST: FACILITATOR: OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER PROGRAMME
CONTRACT PERIOD: 2026 ACADEMIC YEAR

SALARY NOTCH: R270 498.00, plus 37% cash in lieu of benefit.
Requirements: · Matric or equivalent Matric or equivalent · A Diploma qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a closely related field (REQV13) · Advanced Teaching Diploma in TVT / Post Graduate Diploma TVET / Diploma in Secondary or Higher Education ·Valid SACE registration (not provisional registration) ·At least three (3) years’ relevant practical working experience within the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) discipline · Registration with a recognised OHS professional body, such as SACPCMP, Saiosh, or an equivalent recognised body · Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation, including the OHS Act and related regulations · Understanding of QCTO occupational qualification requirements, including assessment and workplace-based learning will be an added advantage · Teaching experience will be an added advantage ·Strong facilitation skills ·Ability to engage adult learners effectively ·Good administrative and reporting skills ·Commitment to quality education, compliance, and learner success ·be a team player, have passion for learning and teaching; as well as good communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Result Areas: · Facilitate theoretical and practical learning in line with the approved QCTO curriculum · Conduct learner assessments in accordance with QCTO and assessment quality standards · Support learners with workplace-based learning and portfolio development .Maintain accurate learner records and reports as required by the QCTO and SETA · Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality assurance policies · Participate in moderation, monitoring, and continuous improvement activities ·Assist with enrolment, registration and induction of students ·Facilitate general academic and career development of students ·Monitor student attendance register ·Maintain student attendance and performance records ·Creating classroom environment conducive to teaching and learning ·Provide feedback to students regarding their performance and progress ·Liaise with Senior Lecturers, Head of Division and Student Support Services officials in providing support interventions to students ·Invigilation duties ·Attend to uploading and management of LMS subject related portal.
