Thekwini TVET College invites suitably qualified and experienced Lecturer to apply for the following contract post available for 2026 academic year based in Durban.
POST: NCV COMPUTER SCIENCE (SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT) PL1 X 1
CONTRACT PERIOD: FROM DATE OF ASSUMPTION TO 31 DECEMBER 2026

SALARY NOTCH: R281 319.00 PA, plus 37% cash in lieu of benefits.
Requirements: ·Matric or equivalent ·Minimum NQF Level 6 qualification in Information Technology (software development) or equivalent (with relevant subjects) ·Advanced Diploma in TVET Education or any professional teaching qualification (FET or Higher) ·Lecturing experience in a TVET College will be an added advantage ·Valid SACE registration (not provisional) •Computer literacy (MS Office) •Passion for teaching and learning •Good record keeping and administrative skills •Good communication and listening skills, collaboration, adaptability, empathy and patience, good problem-solving skills.
Key Result Areas: Conduct Lectures and/or practical’s for NCV students L2-L4 in computer Science -Software development subjects incl. Mathematics •Organize relevant curricular activities to ensure that the subjects learning areas of the student are conducted in a proper manner •Organize relevant curricular activities to ensure that the subject, learning area of the students are conducted in a proper manner. •Assess, record, analyse and report the attainment of students •Management of student attendance, equipment and resources •Organize experiential training for students and perform any other duties as delegated and/or prescribed by applicable legislation, polices, manuals and guidelines. •Assess and evaluate student progress •Monitor student attendance register •Maintain student attendance and performance records •Creating classroom environment conducive to teaching and learning •Provide feedback to students regarding their performance and progress •Liaise with Senior Lecturers, Head of Division and Student Support Services officials in providing support interventions to students •Invigilation duties · Attend to uploading and management of LMS subject related portal.
